DESCRIPTION:Is your team’s seasonal staff prepared to prevent abuse?\nThe creation of safe spaces for children takes more than just good intentions. Prioritizing the needs of the child, understanding suitable boundaries and supervision, and identifying risky child and adult behaviors will help your summer programs succeed. NOVA’s summer youth programs are invited to take advantage of this free training with child protection experts. Participants will not only become certified mandatory reporters in the state of Virginia but will learn boundary setting, strategies to eliminate the risk of abuse, and trauma-informed tips to respond to disclosures.\nObjectives\n\nUnderstand how harm happens and how to mitigate risk.\nRecognize professional boundaries that foster warm, authentic relationships with children.\nDevelop skills for first response to disclosure of harm.\nUnderstand their responsibilities as mandated reporters in Virginia.\n\nTeams of 25+ can apply for an in-person or private virtual workshop\nQuestions?
