In our classes, they will learn to manage family stressors, engage in meaningful and constructive dialogues with their children and teenagers, and learn how to provide unwavering support for their children throughout every phase of their growth and development.

All of our courses fulfill court-ordered parenting class mandates. Caregivers must complete all sessions to receive a certificate of completion.

Classes are available in English and Spanish and typically run for several weeks. View our class catalog, and complete a referral form to refer a family to the program. Once the form is completed, our team will be in touch!

Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families Class

7-week course for caregivers with children ages 10-14

The tween and teen years can be some of the most challenging and transformative phases in a child’s life. Adolescents navigate the complex terrain of puberty, grapple with issues like bullying and peer pressure, all while trying to discover their own identity and place in the world. Because of the unique challenges this age group faces, SCANVA has designed a program that provides support and guidance to both parents and their elementary or middle schoolers.

Our program isn’t just about addressing the challenges of adolescence; it’s about equipping both parents and their tweens and teens with practical tools and effective communication skills that will serve them well throughout life. This is accomplished by building communication skills and strengthening bonds through fun games, projects, and discussions. The result is families leaving our classes not only feeling better connected to each other but also with a better understanding of each other.
