Recognizing and Responding to Disclosures of Abuse by Children
This participatory training will use case studies to illustrate four types of disclosure. We will review barriers to disclosure of abuse and how first responders can gather information appropriately based on child development. Common errors in documentation of child protection concerns will be reviewed.
Participants will:

• Use cases to understand barriers to disclosure
• Review and practice question types
• Understand best practices in response and documentation
