Beyond Bullying: preventing and addressing harm between children

At least half of harm experienced by children is caused by another child. Too often adults fail to identify problematic sexual behavior that could be prevented by a suitable response. Participants will review definitions, prevalence, and language appropriate to harm caused by children. We’ll take a prevention focus and include case examples to practice risk assessment and mitigation tools.

What you’ll learn:

  • Language appropriate to harm caused by children
  • Definitions of age-appropriate and harmful sexual behavior
  • Types and possible causes of harmful sexual behavior
  • Tips for addressing sharing self-produced sexual images (sexting)
  • Resources and tools to support healthy relationships between children
